I think I can, I think I can . . . .

There are a lot of things that get us out the door for our workouts.  Mine change from day to day, week to week, even season to season.  I was dragging tail yesterday not wanting to go out in the cold to run when I had to go to that place and look for a little motivation.  As I started off on my run I was thinking about what it is right now that is getting me out the door, in the pool or on the saddle.

The thing is, I really, really, really want to earn a spot at Halfmaxx.  It’s a bit of a stretch since I have yet to have a really successful half iron distance race and earning a qualifying spot means shaving some time off my personal best.  BUT, I believe I can do it, so I’m half way there!  That might sound cheesy or overly optimistic, but each and every workout that I don’t want to do, but suck it up and get it done gets me one step closer.   Today my reward was gaining 10 watts on my threshold sets on the computrainer.  (I had a 5 x 5 min. @ threshold/ 5 min. recovery @ 60 watts below threshold.)  Only 20 more watts to go!
