It’s hard for some folks to grasp the idea that some workouts are just bad workouts. You don’t stop or throw in the towel (o-k, sometimes you do that, but not most of the time) you just have a bad workout and chalk it up to experience. I had a horrible swim last night. I couldn’t get my stroke count down below 20, I felt like I was fighting the water – I just trudged through. In the end though I had a PR for this year for my 4000y. swim – 1:07. See, even the bad workouts can be good.
